Vienna Calling!

The Parallelní Polis cryptoliberation virus is spreading. From Prague to Bratislava and Barcelona, Kosice, and now to Vienna.

Our version open-source community concept includes: The Institute of Cryptoanarchy for research, The Qrypto Qube for conferences, hackathons, and meetups for decentralized non-state currencies and open source technologies, and The Paper Hub Coworking space.

We are a small group of sovereign citizens based in Vienna who, after participating in events at Parallelní Polis, have decided to establish a local cryptoliberation community center for our peers and those who are curious and want to learn about cryptoanarchist arts, science, and technology. We are currently located in an 80m2 coworking space in the 18th district, and are expanding to a 230m2 location. We also have secured a public event space in Q21 Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier, called RaumD. To this end, we have a weekly meetup every Tuesday evening from 6-11pm.

Institute of Cryptoanarchy

The term cryptoanarchy describes the growing environment of the unregulated Internet, where unlimited data sharing and the development of the free market became possible by using anonymous tools such as decentralized currencies like bitcoin, and anti-spyware encryption tools.

The aim of the Institute of Cryptoanarchy is to make available tools for unlimited dissemination of information on the Internet and encouraging a parallel decentralized economy, crypto-currencies and other conditions for the development of a free society in the 21st century.

We understand the connection between the arts, science and technology as a tool to highlight the authoritarian tendencies which entered into our daily lives with the development of modern technologies. For this reason, we decided to join the international Paralelni Polis network and to establish a local branch in Vienna, Austria where we can hold talks, meetups, and hackathons around these themes.

The main motive for us is the belief that censorship is not a phenomenon only in “the distant dictatorial world”. States and their security agencies globally control access to information and use the protection of intellectual property as an excuse to apply total censorship to control the available resources.

The State on a global level  processes private mail and personal data, even though the European Court of Justice decided on the illegitimacy of “data retention”. The State and corporations have data on economic behavior, and through  legislation they have received  complete access to all payment transactions and consumer habits.

New technology brings the possibility of choice – we are in a time that is defined by The Crypto Anarchist Manifesto. With a fast internet connection, reliable anonymity and decentralized currency, you preserve freedom which we have been losing as a society.

Paper Hub Coworking Space

Paper Hub members have the possibility to use, according to the extent of their subscription any free spot in the shared working space. It is also possible to hire your own desk. The membership fees are paid in Cryptocurrency. We will be happy to instruct you how to use it and help you with the exchange.
